Dad Accident Update

As many of you know, my dad had a seizure this week while driving and that resulted in a car accident. He was originally admitted to the hospital in ICU and then moved to a regular room. While he does not have any injuries from the accident, he has suffered a trauma to the body and it has caused some complications. However, took a turn for the worse yesterday.  Yesterday was a rough day for my dad any my mom. My dad went into cardiac arrest at 4:30 am, thank God he survived.  He was put on a ventilator because he has pneumonia in both lungs.  He was given some blood and antibiotics. Today he seems better, his color has improved.  But his white blood cell count is still rising and they are bringing in an infectious disease specialist to determine why the white blood cells are continuing to go up after the antibiotics.  They are going to do some tests today on his lungs to see if they improve. Also some tests to see if he can be put on a feeding tube rather than a line.  He is pretty out of it with the breathing tube and all but hanging in there.
